Vedic Remedies in Astrology
Sanjay Rath
An excellent addition to the personal library of any serious student of the Divine Science. There are almost 200 pages on mantras, perhaps the most powerful of remedial measures, in this volume. What he recommends on gemstone use is slightly confusing, but seems worthwhile nonetheless. Also included in this book are chapters on the use of yantras, rudraksha beads, and planets and their corresponding deities. This book should be bought by all those who counsel others through Vedic Astrology.

Astronoesis
Anthony Damiani
This is a very expensive book - it costs $90. But, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. It is, in the opinion of this reviewer, one of the two or three most profound books on the Divine Science I have ever seen. If a book gives me one Aha!, it's worth $15. 2 Aha's! = $25. 5 Aha's! are worth at least $60. This weighty tome has given me at least 20 Ahas! and I haven't even seriously studied it yet. It is, of course, only for the medium and advanced students of astrology. Remember that a weekend course in astrology costs between $150 and $300. This book has ground-breaking material that will keep you occupied (and charmed) for at least one month. Go on, take the leap.

Vedic Astrological Terminology
Nicolai Bachman and David Frawley
An extremely important CD (and book) for those who are interested in remedial measures in Vedic Astrology. If one is in a life-threatening period, many jyotishis will recommend reciting the Mritunjaya (victory over death) mantra. But unless your pronunciation is very good, don't bother. Sanskrit is a strict language, and unless pronunciation is near perfect, do not do the recitation. This CD gives mantras for each planet, Ganesh, the Mritunjaya mantra, and others. If you want to use "mantra" remedial measures, buy this book-CD combination.

Vedic Astrology: An Integrated Approach
Narsimha Rao
An excellent resource book only for the serious student (intermediate and above) of the Divine Science. Mr. Rao covers advanced methods of interpretation such as Kalachakra Dasa, Ashtottari Dasa, and others I have never heard of, such as Drigdasa and Niryaana Shoola Dasa. Also there are several chapters on Tajaka methods, which are useful for the Hindu progressed chart. A very good feature of this volume is that there are many examples and practical exercises to give the reader a fuller understanding of the points that the author is showing us. The writing style is clear and logical and it is easy to understand what Mr. Rao is talking about.

Ancient Hindu Astrology for the Modern Western Astrologer
James Braha
One of the true Western 20th Century Jyotish classics. It is utterly wonderful, useful, and complete for a book suitable for beginners. In terms of the basic meanings of the houses and the planets it cannot be beat. This is a must have book for any serious student of the divine science. It includes mantras for the planets, a fairly complete "cook book" method of interpretation, sample charts of famous people, divisional charts, and many other aspects of Vedic Astrology. I give this book an A Plus… especially for all those starting out in Jyotish.
Review by Michael Laughrin.
"Ever since my first journey to India I have desired to share the knowledge I was fortunate enough to receive. I have also felt a need to dispel some rather major misconceptions, the main one being the fact that Hindu astrology is extraordinarily difficult. This is not true, as will soon hopefully be revealed. Although I have always been most fascinated with astrology because of the philosophical implications and revelations which can be extracted. I have done my best to keep philosophy from this work, as that is not my present purpose. It is my intention only to present Hindu astrology in a way that it deserves to be presented, which is long overdue—a way which western astrologers can understand and utilise, and which will clear away the mystery and finally put into perspective the enormously complex techniques which make up the bulk of most textbooks on the subject. Having worked with both Hindu and western systems, it is my experience that the two greatly complement each other and together form the basis for a complete and profound astrology." —From the Introduction

Esoteric Principles of Vedic Astrology: A Treatise on Advanced Predictive Techniques
Bepin Behari
This book presents the ancient Hindu astrology in its occult and esoteric aspects. Traditional practitioners often failed to defend the veracity of the subject and dispel the skepticism of modern intellectuals. The ancient revelations have been restated here to meet contemporary requirements.
The ancient seers presented Vedic astrology under various assumptions and in allegorical and symbolic languages. They assumed poly-dimensional extension of human consciousness, which was closely related with planetary impulses. Apart from the general approach to this ancient science, the study presents in depth the astrological description of the nature of man. It also provides deeper implications of various planetary combinations. Advanced practitioners as well as general readers will find the book informative, illuminating and highly rewarding.
About the Author
Bepin Behari, an economist by profession, an alumnus of Patna and London Universities, retired from service to the government of India as a diplomat. He has studied Vedic astrology for more than fifty years and has published more than fifteen books on the subject. He has lectured in several European countries and in the United States. His articles have been published in English, Dutch, and Spanish. Currently some of his books are being translated into French and German. He is recognized as one of the foremost Vedic astrologers of the world. His Revelation of Lunar Mansions and Zodiacal Signs has already acquired an international readership. His forthcoming title The Law of Ultimate Destiny is expected to lay down a novel foundation for New Age astrology.

Fundamentals of Vedic Astrology (Vedic Astrology Handbook I)
Bepin Behari
Edited by Kenneth Johnson
Fundamentals of Vedic Astrology is the first volume of the Vedic Astrologer's Handbook and the cornerstone of the series. It presents the components of the astrological art—the planets, the sights, the houses, and the lunar mansions. These concepts are presented in the context of a continuing process of self-discovery and spiritual development. Bepin Behari's unique esoteric lens probes the rules that govern the determination of planetary strength, the construction of the divisional charts (vargas) and the principle yogas, or combinations. Fundamentals of Vedic Astrology is an extremely valuable tool for anyone who wants to learn the art of Vedic astrology and the spiritual principles upon which this in-depth ancient science is founded.
When Westerners approach the study of Vedic (Hindu) astrology, they are usually looking for something quite definite. They are looking for a spriritual astrology, a discipline which will throw light (jyotish) on their karma, their spiritual path, and their ultimate purpose. The psychological emphasis of astrology in the West has proven somehow insufficient for their needs; they feel compelled to go beyond psychoanalysis to the techniques of enlightenment. Fundamentals of Vedic Astrology, like all of Bepin Bahari's work, embodies a reformulation of classical Vedic principles (Yoga and Vedanta), a more "modern" interpretation to an ancient science. He cuts through the hundreds of rules of the Hindu astrological scriptures written in the language of medieval India to the spiritual core of the science.
Bepin Behari, author of Myths and Symbols of Vedic Astrology and Planets in the Signs and Houses seeks out the yogic principles which underlie the ancient writings. He elucidates the spiritual core upon which the rules and formulae have been based. In so doing, he restores to us the vision of the early Vedic astrologers and preserves a "deeper and older wisdom tradition." Fundamentals of Vedic Astrology is an essential guide for those who are seeking this wisdom.

Myths and Symbols of Vedic Astrology
Bepin Behari
Edited by David Frawley
Mythology is the basis of astrology and astrology is the basis of mythology. Most myths relate to the cycles of time and light, as revealed by the stars and planets. They show our deeper connection to the cosmos and to the cosmic forces by which our soul or psyche is patterned.
Vedic Astrology has a wealth of myths and symbols, some in common with Western astrology, others parts of the stories of the great Hindu gods like Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Many of the secrets of life and consciousness can be discovered through them. Myths and Symbols of Vedic Astrology is one of the rare books that explains astrological mythology. Western astrologers will find it useful for providing an Eastern perspective on the mythology of the planets and stars. Students of mythology will find it helpful in unlocking the astrological keys to the great archetypes of the psyche. This book also explores the nakshatras, the twenty-seven lunar mansions, a unique aspect of the Vedic system of astrology. Those who are studying Vedic or Hindu astrology will find this book to be invaluable in opening the door to the inner meaning of the planets and how they are viewed in the Vedic system.

Signs of the Times: The End of the World and the Coming Golden Age
Robert Fitzgerald
The author presents a fascinating account of how time and history follow an astrological structure. This structure consists of astrological ages that are chronicled from before the Age of Cancer, and the invention of agriculture around the world, to the present end of the Age of Pisces, and the much-prophesied apocalyptic end of the world.
Within this pattern an end-time cycle emerges that explains the Apocalyptic energies we see around us today. Astrology also promises, in the coming Age of Aquarius, a new golden age and gives us indications of what needs to be done to survive the end-time.

The Fated Sky: Astrology in History
Benson Bobrick
This is one of the most wonderful books that I have read in the last 20 years (the amount of time that I have been a professional astrologer.) Even though it is largely the history of astrology (Western astrology, at that) in the West—primarily Europe and North America—it is filled with astrological goodies and analyses that any student of the Divine Science will find useful, amusing and often extremely insightful. It will be less useful to those who do not have a working knowledge of some brand of the Science of Light.
The book reads like a novel and, yet, is all true. Western astrology prior to around 1750 was accepted by virtually all learned people and held an honored place in almost every major European university. Did you know that Galileo, Copernicus, Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler and Geoffrey Chaucer were all famous astrologers?
Plus, this book is wonderfully instructive as to what combinations indicate fame, type and timing of death, money, marriage, children and other important considerations. Of course, a lot of type print is devoted to that lighthouse of Western astrology, John Lilly. John Dee and Marsilio Ficino are also dealt with in some detail. Astrology is also ably illustrated during the periods of the Romans, Greeks, and in the Middle Ages in the Arab lands.
Buy this book! Own it! Read it, but, for Heaven's sake, relate to it in some meaningful way NOW! Maybe you can tell that I am a man of frequent and sudden enthusiasms, but I really, really, really loved this book.

Seasons of the Stars: Eastern Astrology Daily Transit Calendar 2009
Mark Kincaid
This is the first Daily Transit Appointment Calendar of its kind. Not only does it have an Eastern Astrology chart of the Planetary Transits for each day, but there is a full daily interpretation as well. There is also a Visual Lunar Calendar for each month to help us become aware of how the different phases of the Moon can affect how we feel.
By following the movements of the planets on a daily basis, we can become more conscious of how they can influence every aspect of our lives.
As well, by knowing in advance the favorable and unfavorable days of the month, we can more confidently plan our lives for the greatest success.
This book represents 22 years Jyotish research which has focused quite a bit on the knowledge and wisdom of the day to day Transits.
The Transits are those ever present influences of the stars which create our world and affect each
of us intimately.
The Transits are able to identify the specific positive, neutral and negative vibrations of each
day so that even over months ahead we can plan around the most favorable and unfavorable
days.
The Transits will also show us where we're personally, lacking in strength with any of our
personal planets. Once anyone knows which planets are needing improvement, the 3rd
part of the book includes choice and profound remedies that show people what they can
do to strengthen their weaker or malefic planets.
This book includes a good introduction to astrology in the beginning.
Then, 365 days of descriptions of each day, from January 26, 2009 to Jan.31, 2010.
(After this first printing, future printings will be from Feb. 1, 2009 to Feb. 1, 2010.
In other words, the calendar will be available throughout the year, and always a full,
up-coming year.)
The book finishes with a vision of what's possible in the science of astrology, and how
Astrology is evolving to be the really profound Vedic science it's supposed to be!
